SkySQL Introduces New Enterprise Suite

SkySQL has announced the first ever graphical interface for deploying and managing a cluster of highly available open source databases in the cloud. The beta release of SkySQL Cloud Data Suite is now available for free as a web service.

Using SkySQL Cloud Data Suite, users can configure clusters of MySQL nodes to be deployed in Amazon EC2 with, according to the company, four simple clicks, or they can use a more advanced configuration to take full control of the deployed systems. The cluster can be deployed automatically and securely in the Amazon EC2 account of the user without further interaction. Once it is deployed, users can benefit from a fully functional and secure cluster of MariaDB instances that is fully compatible with the MySQL database and configured to provide high availability and high performance.

According to the announcement, database administrators can use a graphical console to execute administrative tasks such as backup, restore, node isolation, and reconfiguration of deployed nodes. In case of failure, the integrated master high availability tool guarantees automatic failover and data synchronization from one master node to an available slave node. Node fallback can be activated with a single click from the administration console.

SkySQL also announced a new enterprise suite for the MySQL and MariaDB open source databases. The SkySQL Enterprise Data Suite now includes three application-led solutions: Carrier Grade, Analytics, and High Availability. According to the announcement, these solutions combine innovations from leading technology providers in the MySQL ecosystem and the backing of MySQL creator Monty Widenius.

The SkySQL Enterprise Data Suite is fully compatible with MariaDB, MySQL database, and Percona Server. For more information, please visit: http://www.skysql.com.
